KENTUCKY TUITION GRANT (KTG)

The Kentucky Tuition Grant program provides a need-based grant to Kentucky residents and does not have to be repaid. Eligible students must be full time undergraduates enrolled in an associate or baccalaureate degree program and have no past due financial obligation to KHEAA or any Title IV programs. 

To apply, a student must file out a FAFSA. Apply online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

COLLEGE ACCESS PROGRAM (CAP)

The College Access Program (CAP) helps Kentucky’s financially needy students attend public and private colleges and universities. CAP grants are awarded to Kentucky residents enrolled in at least 6 semester hours in an academic program that takes at least two years to complete.  This grant is based upon need and does not have to be repaid. A student applies for the CAP grant by completing the FAFSA. Priority is give to students who complete the FAFSA on a first come, first serve basis.

Kentucky Education Excellence Scholarships (KEES)

MCU will credit student's accounts for the amount of eligible KEES dollars that a student has earned while attending a Kentucky high school. The student must maintain above a specific GPA to receive all or part of the funds. These funds are earned by the student and do not have to be repaid. For more information on the requirements to receive funds from KEES, see the Guidelines for KEES "On-Track" Eligibility. For more information regarding KEES, go to www.kheaa.com.

Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority Teacher Scholarships

A student enrolled as a full time student and working toward a teaching certificate may qualify for this scholarship that is based upon financial need and does not have to be repaid. However, if the student does not meet the criteria that KHEAA establishes, after graduation the grant turns into a loan that has to be paid back to the state.
