GRADUATION INVITATION

 

MAY 2014 ADVANTAGE COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION

 

Graduation Caps and Gowns – Graduation Caps and Gowns will be distributed at graduation on May 10th at Graves County High School.  Graduates are asked to arrive by 1 pm to prepare for the graduation ceremony.  MCU will have caps and gowns for all graduates who applied for graduation before April 1st.  All graduates are encouraged to attend our final graduation; however, we are unable to guarantee caps and gowns for graduates who applied to participate in graduation after April 1st.  You do not need a cap and gown to walk at graduation and we look forward to celebrating with all of our graduates.

 

Information for Honors Graduates – Graduation cords will be provided to Honors Graduates at Graduation, Saturday, May 10.  When you check in for graduation, a volunteer from our Advantage team will provide cords to our Honors Graduates.

Honors

 

Academic Semester Honors 
Students who achieve a grade point average of 4.00 while taking 12 or more semester credit hours are honored by being placed on the President's List for that semester. Students who have an incomplete grade (I) or (X) are not eligible for the President's List.

Students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 3.99 while taking at least 12 credit hours a semester, are honored by being placed on the Dean's List for that semester. Students who have an incomplete grade (I) or (X) are not eligible for the Dean's List.

Graduation Honors
Baccalaureate degree candidates are considered for graduation honors (summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude) if they have earned a minimum of 36 hours for a Baccalaureate Degree and a minimum of 24 hours for an Associate Degree at Mid-Continent University. A minimum of 42 hours must be in upper-level courses for the Baccalaureate Degree. The student must have earned the required cumulative grade point average (CGPA) on all coursework both Mid-Continent and transfers overall.

Students earning a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.90 or above are graduated summa cum laude, those earning a CGPA of 3.75 3.89 are graduated magna cum laude, and those earning a CGPA of 3.50 - 3.74 are graduated cum laude. Honor students will be recognized at commencement.

Individual, Diploma, Group, and Family photos will be taken at graduation.

You will be able to view all photos online after graduation and purchase from the photographer’s website.
