Mid-Continent University’s Advantage is proud to announce the hiring of new employees in multiple departments.
Mayfield native, Brittany Wade, was hired as an Advantage Registration Officer. She recently graduated from Mid-Continent’s Advantage with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Counseling. She and her husband, Richard, have a three your old daughter named Chloe.
New Advantage Student Advisor, Rene’ Cherry Marchbanks, lives in Lone Oak with her husband, Rex, her son, Grant (18), and her three dogs. Rene’ was born in Murray and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science with an Area in Accounting from Murray State. Prior to coming to MCU, Rene’ was employed at Four Rivers Behavioral Health in Paducah as a Staff Accountant. She is a member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church in Paducah. In her free time she loves spending time with the Lord and her family and her hobbies include camping, fishing and crocheting. She enjoys Christian music, especially from Mandisa, Edward John, Kirk Franklin and Jason Crabb.
Secret Holt, born and raised in Calvert City, was recently hired to work in Student Registration and the College Book Store. She is currently enrolled in the Advantage cohort Paducah 19F pursuing her Associate of Science Degree. She said, “I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to work at MCU. Advantage is absolutely wonderful!” She came to Mid-Continent University after working for a mental health agency in Paducah for five years. Secret and her husband, Jasen, currently live in Benton with two beautiful daughters, Bailey and Lillian.
Michelle Mangrum, new Advantage Online Advisor, is a returning employee to our MCU family. She previously worked at the Graves County Jail and has 12 years of banking experience. Born and raised in Jefferson, PA, Michelle and her husband, Mark, and daughter, Kalee Briece (12), have lived in Mayfield for the past 13 years.
Recently hired Advantage Registration Officer, Andrea (Keen) Phillips, is originally from Mt. Vernon, IL. For the past 12 years she lived in Murray and recently relocated to Hickory. She was previously employed for eight years at Pulmo Dose Pharmacy in Murray as the Assistant to the General Manager. Andrea received her associate degree on a forensics scholarship from Southeastern Illinois College. While there, she competed at a national level and was awarded a Silver medal in Persuasion speaking as well as a Bronze medal in Prose Reading and Informative speaking at Phi Rho Pi (the national community college speech championship). She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Murray State. Andrea recently married Greg Phillips, employed by WK&T Telecommunications, in November of last year, after being together since 2006. They have an adopted shelter dog, Foxy, and a cat that adopted them in April, Ozzie. They are St. Louis Cardinals fans and try to attend several games a year. She also enjoys reading, scrapbooking, going to concerts, traveling and volunteering for the Calloway County Humane Society.
