Winston Bennett played collegiate ball for Joe B. Hall and Eddie Sutton at the University of Kentucky. Bennett was a member of the Wildcats Final Four squad in 1984. Coach Bennett also played for the Cleveland Caveliers and the winningest coach in NBA history, Lenny Wilkens, and also played for the Miami Heat. |
Winston Bennett began his coaching career under Rick Pitino one of the most successfull collegiate coaches in history. While coaching with Coach Pitino at UK, the Wildcats won the NCAA Championship in 1996 and were runners up in 1997. Bennett followed Pitino to the National Basketball Association as an assistant for the Boston Celtics. After coaching for the Celtics, Bennett got his first shot as Head Coach for NCAA D-II Kentucky State University, where he won a National Championship.
Coach Bennett does not believe in predicting outcomes, but can guarantee a Cougar squad deeply committed to excellence. The team will play extremely hard and represent Mid-Continent University with character and class.
Winsotn Bennett is married to Peggy Bennett.
