Academic Honors Students who achieve a grade point average of 4.00 while taking 12 or more semester credit hours are honored by being placed on the President's List for that semester. Students who have an incomplete grade (I) or (X) are not eligible for the President's List.
Students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 3.99 while taking at least 12 credit hours a semester, are honored by being placed on the Dean's List for that semester. Students who have an incomplete grade (I) or (X) are not eligible for the Dean's List.
Graduation Honors Baccalaureate degree candidates are considered for graduation honors (summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude) if they have earned a minimum of 36 hours for the bachelor's and a minimum of 24 hours for an associate at Mid-Continent University. A minimum of 42 hours must be in upper-level courses for the bachelor's degree. They also must have earned the required cumulative grade point average (CGPA) on all coursework both Mid-Continent and transfers overall.
Students earning a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.90 or above are graduated summa cum laude, those earning a CGPA of 3.75 3.89 are graduated magna cum laude, and those earning a CGPA of 3.50 3.74 are graduated cum laude. Honor students will be recognized at commencement.
